"For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the Gospel's will save it." -- Mark 8:35 (ESV)
KEY THOUGHT:
Often in our attempt to earn God's approval we cling so tightly to the very thing Jesus commands us to lose. Our lives. This is the essence of faith. Who will lose his life for Jesus? Who trusts in the promises of God's Word enough to throw his own understanding to the wind?
Life is found in Jesus. Life is found in obeying Jesus. Life is found in living for Jesus. Anything else is lost in death.
TODAY'S PRAYER:
Father, thank you for the life you give me in Jesus! I confess to you any doubt I may have in my heart and I ask that you help me refine my focus. Change my attitude that I might be like clay in your hands. Take over my life and mold me into a soldier for Jesus, so that I find my life built on solid rock. Take my heart and center it in your Son Jesus as my Lord so that His name would be glorified in all that I do. In His strong name I pray. Amen.

Greetings Earthings...
When I first heard about Blogs, I thought to myself, "Wow! Blogs are extremely lame!" But I also said that about cell phones. And while I think I was the last 20 year old in this country without one, I eventually gave into the cultural norm. But thankfully, by God's Grace, there is one Norm that can not be normed...And not only that...This particular Norm, norms all other norms. The Reformation knew it as Norma Normans Non Normata, which means the Norm of Norms that can not be Normed. So now that you're like, "C'mon bro, just tell us what it is already" the Norm I'm referring to is none other than the Word of God! This blog is dedicated to the Bible, in it's inerrancy and infallibility in ALL things. "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God will stand forever!" Isaiah 40:8...The title of my blog is "Sola Scriptura" which is also a term that orignated during the Reformation. It means "Scripture Alone." God, in his infinite Grace, has chosen to communicate to his creation not through ideas, or thoughts, or feelings, but through WORDS! As stated by Albert Mohler, "Words bind us. Words make explicit this and not the other. Words can be written or etched into a tablet and once there are fixed." Thanks be to God that he has given us His Word! But more than that he has given us JESUS! In John 1:1 we see that Jesus Christ is the Word of God. Everything in the Bible points to Christ and Christ alone. He has given us the Word, and through Him we can have not only eternal life but understanding of the God who created us. In my experience I have found that the more I understand God's Word, the more I want to glorify Him with my life. And the more Jesus is glorified in my life, the more satisfied I am in Him! I hope this blog will lead you to a deeper understanding of God's Word, and a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ. Enjoy!
